User Interface (UI) Developer

at Medtouch in Cambridge MA

The UI Developer position at MedTouch will be working with the development, design and project management teams to create and execute clean sites with rich, intuitive user experience capabilities. This role is destined for the type of person who spends his or her free time playing with exciting HTML5 and CSS3 features that older browsers only dreamed about. This job requires passion, creativity and an unquenchable to desire to work hands on and learn.

In this role you will:

—Understand and utilize technical and functional design requirements
—Rip Photoshop PSDs to standards compliant HTML and CSS
—Hand code HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with SEO best practices
—Intuit layout, usability and interaction requirements from design specifications (PSD)
—Integrate HTML into a CMS in a way that users can update content using a WYSIWYG editor
—Work proficiently with JavaScript, including jQuery
—Work with development team to create reusable code whenever and wherever possible
—Evaluate for compliance with 508, WCAG and W3C
—Test resultant HTML across browsers and responsive designs across mobile browsers
—Become an expert in HTML5, HTML for mobile devices, and HTML for email campaigns
—Collaborate with Design and Project Management teams to build and refine graphic designs for websites
—Work with development team to create standards and best practices for CMS integration
—Keep team members updated and exercise good judgment when fielding questions and asking for help (because we want you to succeed)
—Contribute to the ultimate success of the MedTouch team by constantly searching for opportunities to improve, as an individual and as a company

The Fit

You may be a perfect fit if:

—You have a B.S or B.A in a related field
—You’ve obtained 3+ years’ experience working with HTML/CSS/JavaScript/jQuery
—You have experience coding in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
—You’re proficient with PSD to HTML conversion
—You’ve had previous exposure to ASP.NET aspx page coding
—You have experience creating 508 compliant sites
—You hold a general understanding of version control
—You’re fluent in Photoshop and Fireworks
—You have excellent critical thinking skills, love to problem solve and are not afraid of a good challenge

Bonus Points

—You have previous CMS experience, extra bonus if you’re familiar with Sitecore
—You are web design savvy
—You have experience with Flash/ActionScript
—You are familiar with the Healthcare industry
